The Big Bird is a world class, full carbon, hollow molded slope racer. Sporting a large 2.5metre, super stiff wing, the Big Bird will out climb and out fly any model on your slope. Worried about transporting and landing a big model? Well the two piece wing and beefy carbon joiner make assembly at the slope nice and quick, while the carbon/kelvar fuse and full crow braking allow the Big Bird to be landed with ease. The quality and finish of this model can only be considered as a work of art. We first looked at this plane and realized there was so little to do before getting this model in the air.

The Fuselage is a strong lay-up of carbon/kevlar with a slide on nose cone. The nose cone is heavily reinforced to prevent splitting and slides off to give access to a spacious nose section for your gear. The gear is bottom mounted and this gives the pre-installed elevator and rudder push rods a straight run to prevent any binding. The rudder snake is already connected and like all control surfaces, the rudder is live hinged with a wiper and fairing to cover the linkage. The carbon elevator push rod is also connected to the bell crank for the full moving, two piece elevator. The nose section allows access to the ballast tube which looks like it will take about 600gms of lead, great for those strong wind days or faster DS runs. Moving back along the fuse you come to the wing mounting area. This accepts the heavy carbon wing joiner rod, servo lead holes and wing pin holes. The fuselage is finished off with a nice adjustable tow hook.

The super strong, two piece, full carbon wing is joined by a beefy carbon joiner through the fuse. Ailerons and flaps are bottom hinged, again with wipers and fairings to cover the pre-installed brass linkages. Recessed servo areas in the wing and glass servo covers allow for a clean finish to the wing.
